Dear Parents
Term Two Festival Week

Our next Festival Week Celebration is from Tuesday 14 June- Friday 17 June. The theme of this week is the Art.
One of the main activities we are undertaking is the Japanese Star Festival Tanabata. The festival is celebrated by putting bamboo branches in your house or backyard. They are decorated with wishes and poems along with star-like decorations.

A key part to the success of our Festival Week’s is parent participation. A bamboo branch will be placed outside each classroom before and after school for the entire week. All parents and children are invited to participate by writing their own wish on paper provided outside each class and then attach it to the tree. Each class will have paper, string and markers sitting out for you to use. So please come along one morning or afternoon during the week and add your wish to the tree.

If you have some special talent or activity related to the Arts that you would be willing to share with your child’s grade during Festival Week, we would love to hear from you! Please see your child’s teacher with your idea.
We look forward to seeing you and your wishes during festival week.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask me or see your child’s teacher.

Kind Regards
Rebecca Wood
Intercultural Week Organiser
